20/05/08:  The Sherbet Foundation.  

Charis is delighted to welcome the Sherbet Foundation to our list of trust funds under management.  

The Foundation (charity status pending) was promoted recently at the Credit Show in Olympia.   Clare Sandbrook, Trustee said "we had lots of well wishers commenting on what a great idea SHERBET was.   Keeping to the "sweetie" theme we had a wonderful chocolate fountain on the  stand with lots of goodies to dip in Belgian chocolate!   The idea has got everyone talking - and of course we were able to promote the Foundation.   A few donations are promised as a result and the goodwill of the credit industry is being courted - and everyone is responding positively".

Once charitable status has been approved, initial grant-making will focus on helping vulnerable individuals and families who are being adversely affected by enforcement action.   Grants will be available for essential items of household equipment, counselling to relieve stressful situations and keep families together and holidays for children whose families are living in extreme financial pressure.
